People are interesting.  Talking and listening to people is my work, passion and gift.  I listen deeply, not only to what they say but to the undercurrents that have brought them to where they are and where they wish to go.  What motivates people and how does one tap into their essential drive?  And how can we as parents either help or simply get out of the way when it comes to promoting our children’s growth?  I work with individuals, adolescents and parents who may find themselves in situations that are difficult or complicated, and strive to help them anchor themselves when they feel unmoored.  Bringing a child home after wilderness or residential programs can be tricky and it’s worth being prepared as parents.  Let me help you smooth the way by anticipating and preparing for the challenges ahead.

My most favorite job is being a mother, which has I believe made me much better at what I do.  I get how much you love your kids and how that love can also feel like pain when you see your child struggle.  My other most favorite job was being a wilderness therapy field guide for many years before going back to school for my masters degree.  I worked for several programs, both wilderness and residential, as a field guide and then as a therapist.  I currently have a private practice and treat adolescents, families and adults.  I have 15 years of experience now and have worked with hundreds of individuals and families.  No two families have ever been alike making this a dynamic and ever evolving job.  I am willing to flex with your situation and do my best to shine some light where it might be dark.
